welcome aboard

Ships of Hagoth is a digital-first literary magazine featuring creative nonfiction and theoretical essays by members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Where other LDS-centric publications often look inward at the LDS tradition, we seek literary works that look outward through the curious, charitable lens of faith.

We are living in an era of "slow TV." After the chaos of hyper-sexualized shows like Euphoria , audiences are craving tension over explicit content. Maxton Hall delivers a "hot" experience by showing restraint .

"Movies4u" appears to be one of many unofficial streaming or download websites that host copyrighted content without authorization. Such sites often change domain names (e.g., movies4u.vip , movies4u.net ) and are frequently blocked or shut down. Accessing or promoting them is not legal in most regions , and they can pose security risks (malware, intrusive ads).

The series, based on Mona Kasten’s bestseller Save Me , leans heavily into the tension of a high-society setting. James, the arrogant heir, and Ruby, the scholarship student, share a magnetic screen presence that has led to viral TikTok edits and deep dives into their off-screen friendship. Their performances elevate the classic "rich boy meets poor girl" trope into something far more visceral and modern. Why "Maxton Hall" is Trending

A truly deep analysis of Maxton Hall must acknowledge the "hot" stakes of their connection. In an environment that prizes exclusivity, love is a subversive act. To choose one another is to betray the tribes that define them. James risks his inheritance and status; Ruby risks the focus and stability she has sacrificed everything to build.

IONS

We are hoping—for “one must needs hope”—for creative nonfiction, theoretical essays, and craft essays that seek radical new ways to explore and express theological ideas; that are, like Hagoth, “exceedingly curious.”

We favor creative nonfiction that can trace its lineage back to Michel de Montaigne. Whether narrative, analytical, or devotional, these essays lean ruminative, conversational, meandering, impressionistic, and are reluctant to wax didactic.

As for theoretical essays: we welcome work that playfully and charitably explores the wide world of arts & letters—especially works created from differing religious, non-religious, and even irreligious perspectives—through the peculiar lens of a Latter-day Saint.

We read and publish submissions as quickly as possible, and accept simultaneous submissions.
