The game tracks micro-expressions on your character’s (and the suspect’s) face through advanced procedural animation. If you push too hard, the suspect’s psyche fractures. If you are too soft, they lie through their teeth. The NES creates a dynamic where no two playthroughs are identical. In one playthrough, a suspect might confess to a murder; in another, that same suspect might be the victim. You never know who is guilty until you break them—or they break you.
