They share a crumbling haveli on the Dashashwamedh Ghat, divided by a thin wall built during the 1992 riots but connected by a common courtyard. The "Samjhota" is a handwritten, notarized document from 1954 stating: “Neither family will sell, mortgage, or transfer this land to any outsider. This is a ghar (home), not a deal.”
