IDA Pro is a widely used interactive disassembler and debugger for reverse engineering binary software. This paper examines the concept of "IDA Pro keys" in three senses: (1) legitimate licensing keys used to activate commercial IDA Pro copies, (2) internal programmatic and data "keys" and identifiers used within IDA for analysis (e.g., function signatures, type IDs, and database tags), and (3) illicit or unauthorized keying and keygen distribution issues.
