Among these, 2012 , an apocalyptic film depicting a cataclysmic "world end," gained renewed traction in Indonesia, a country with significant internet-driven media consumption. This paper investigates why a 2009 film, originally titled 2012 , became a focal point in 2021 through the lens of Indonesian subtitles ( kiamat 2012 ) and analyzes its cultural significance in the post-pandemic context.
