Connect the cable to the PC. Open Device Manager (Right-click Start > Device Manager). Look under "Other Devices" or "Ports (COM & LPT)". It may appear as "USB Serial Controller D" or similar.
Windows Update may fetch a driver automatically, but it is often a stripped-down Microsoft inbox driver. It works for basic data transfer, but advanced features (hardware handshaking, high baud rates) may fail.
